
If you have a blog and you want it to be listed in all major search engines. You also want to increase your page rank in Google, Yahoo, Live search and Ask.com.
Here is an article showing you how to submit your blogger sitemap to all major search engines and the way to send update to these search engines when you make any new changes in your blog.
If by luck you are a blogger user, you dont need to generate the sitemap using any sitemap generator, Blogger does it for you, You can access to your sitemap by going into the url like this-
http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/rss.xml
OR
http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/atom.xml
Note:- YOUBLOGNAME should be replace with your own blog name like I have a blog named feedshub.blogspot.com, so the sitemap location will be-
http://feedshub.blogspot.com/atom.xml
OR
http://feedshub.blogspot.com/rss.xml
If you are not a blogger user, you have your own doamin. All you have to do is to create a sitemap.xml file using any sitemap generator like www.xml-sitemaps.com. Once you have your sitemap.xml file, you need to upload this in your website root directory like below-
http://YOURDOMAINNAME.com/sitemap.xml
Now we jump into sitemap submission to search engines.
Submit Blog Sitemap to Google
Google has an official webmaster site where you can add your sitemap and you can track it, Also when your contents are updated, you can sumbit it again from webmaster.
All you have to do is to create a webmaster profile, You can use existing Gmail account in case you have it. Once login into website, you need to add and verify your blog. Google webmaster gives you several options to verify that you are the actual owner of the blog you are sumbitting.
You can either add a Meta Tag or Upload an HTML file. Google generate META tag for you. you need to put this META tag according to directions given by Google. Second option is to upload an HTML file to website. This option works for domain owners only because Blogger users can not upload files so only way to verify their blog is to add META tag.
Once you are done with verifying your website/blog, You can add your sitemap to Google as given in below diagram

Submit Blog Sitemap to Yahoo
You can use Yahoo official submit page to submit your sitemap with your Yahoo account username and password. After going into this webpage, click on "Submit Your Site for Free:" link.
You will be navigate to a webpage like below where you can submit your website or blog.
After adding your website url or feed, you will be navigate to a webpage like below, where you can manage your sitemap.
Submit Blog Sitemap to MSN
Unfortunately MSN has no website like Google and Yahoo to track your sitemap. The alternative solution in the meantime is to submit the Blog sitemap to Moreover.com. It seemed that there was a standing arrangement for Moreover to provide the submitted feeds to MSN for crawling and indexing.
You can sumbit your blog to Moreover.com like this-
http://api.moreover.com/ping?u=http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/rss.xml
OR
http://api.moreover.com/ping?u=http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/atom.xml
Again YOURBLOGNAME should be replaced with the actual name of your blog.
If your submission is successful, you will receive a message like below-
Thank you for your ping. The moreover database will be updated with the new data from your url - http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/rss.xml as soon as possible.
Submit Blog Sitemap to Ask.com
To submit your sitemap to Ask.com, copy and paste below line into your browser-
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/rss.xml
OR
http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/atom.xml
Upon successful submission, you will be navigate to a webpage like below-
Submit Sitemap to Other Search Engines:
Normally other search engines uses the below ping url to submit blog or website.
http://search-engine-url/ping?sitemap=http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/rss.xml
OR
http://search-engine-url/ping?sitemap=http://YOURBLOGNAME.blogspot.com/atom.xml
You can also submit your blog/website to blog directories and feed directories.
