Google Knol - Knowledge Sharing Service from Google Released

Today, Google opened its much awaited product Google Knol. Google Knol, as many people say, a Wikipedia killer, is a knowledge sharing service. There are billions of users on internet looking for useful information. Until now, Wikipedia was the only and favorite destination for all these users, who are serious about knowing the roots of any information. Google Knol is targeting the same users.


Google Knol, as Google says is a unit of knowledge. Google Knol beta will provide useful information to billions of internet users. With Google Knol, you can write articles about any specific topic or you can create multiple Knol on the same topic.

Every Knol will have an author or a group of authors. An author is the person who will create the Knol. With Google Knol, both authors and readers will provide collaborative efforts towards knowledge sharing.

The moderated collaboration model will help author to provide best quality contents with accurate information within it. Readers can suggest an edit in Knol and author has the power to accept, reject and modify this suggestion. It means readers are also the contributors of Knol.

Google Knol is not just an editor for publishing articles. It has many community features such as commenting, Rating. Readers can provide their comments on Knol, they can also rate the Knol and can also provide the review of a Knol.You can access Google Knol from http://knol.google.com/

I also created my first Knol about Knol. After using Knol, what I found is that the interface is clean and simple but not very impressive and required lots more changes in future release.
